[dms-discuss] Suggestions about personal items in the Space

Hi gang --

Thanks James for the post about our new policy on personal items.

I suggest that items kept in locked (not unlocked) lockers at the space should be considered personal property, and items in unlocked lockers at the space should be considered property of Davis Makerspace. (Of course, there could be items in an unlocked locker that are Board-approved personal property.)

I suggest that we should not have to get Board approval for personal items kept in locked lockers. (Of course, it should be our policy that items in locked lockers are personal and private, and that we agree to not keep hazardous or illegal items in locked lockers.)

I suggest that there be a physical list in the space, listing personal items, not in locked lockers, that have been approved by the Board to stay in the space for a while. The list would be a convenience; the final word would be maintained by the Board elsewhere.

I suggest that we quickly look into strong secure compartmentalized storage for hazardous Davis Makerspace property such as welding supplies.
