[dms-discuss] Makerspace Volunteer Recruitment

Yolo County Library and the Davis Makerspace are seeking friendly, helpful, reliable, and respectful community members ages 16+ to help staff the new Davis Makerspace, opening Fall 2024 at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library.
Makerspace volunteers will help with the organization of tools, area, and equipment, ensure safety guidelines are followed, and provide support to makers.
Desired skills include:
Experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, Cricut vinyl cutters, soldering irons, and/or sewing machines
Handy with tools, enjoys tinkering
Skilled at design
Needlecraft, papercraft, woodcraft abilities
Programming knowledge
Volunteers will be expected to commit to a weekly shift at the Makerspace for at least one year; complete an orientation, equipment and safety training; and fulfill Yolo County Library and Davis Makerspace volunteer requirements, including a background check for ages 18+.
