Notes:

- In-person activities are allowed again as of coming Wednesday.
- Crista shared Makerspace plans.
- Tried to fit as much in as one could while maintaining ADA compliance.
- It is the initial plan before feedback.
- Many pieces are mobile allowing for reconfiguration as needed.
- Seating for around 11, at mobile workstations and rally tables.
- All cabinets are locking.
- Q: Cabinets locked to same key?
  - Depends on manufacturer; within a given manufacturer, units can share the same key.
- Q: Pricing?
  - Final price hasn't been determined.
- Soldering table: would want something non-conductive, anti-static surface.
  - Currently planned surface is wood, with additional mat.
- Ventilation
  - Perhaps should have individual soldering ventilation to pull out solder smoke directly from the source.
  - Library already purchased Sentry Air 700 Series ambient air cleaner.
- How is the storage-to-workstation balance?
- Individual lockers or locking cabinet for area just outside the room?
  - Crista prefers the cabinet for flexibility in storage and access.
  - DMS people has no objections.
- Q: Rally tables, how sturdy?
  - Chrystle: Very.
- Stools tuck in under the rally tables, for even more situational space savings.
- Q: Laser-cutter area: is table top in that location intended to hold it?
  - Yes; the C-Leg tables would be for a laser cutter and accompanying computer.
- Q: Is rally table counter height accessible for non-stool use, e.g. wheelchair?
  - Not sure. Doesn't seem like it.
  - Perhaps one or two of the rally tables could be replaces instead be a lower table.
  - Or even just abandon the rally tables in favor of some lower tables.
  - Crista: Would prefer to remove some of the storage rather than workspaces, since already short on workspaces.
- Q: 3D printer takes a long time; better to be able to have 2 out at a time?
  - Was some talk of having the printers in the cabinets; but could the door be closed?
  - Leave them on top of the cabinets near the windows? But OK to leave them out?
  - A staff member would presumably be around if the room was open anyway, so security of the equipment probably not a concern.
  - If it takes a long time to print, should the printers be elsewhere entirely and not take up valuable space for something not particularly interactive?
  - The existing Library 3D printer is still available for non-interactive prints.
  - DMS experience with 3D printers is that they are in fact very interactive, for experimentation and upkeep.
- Scott: Things are starting to move contracting-wise with room reconfiguration, probably within the next month.
- 3D printers on cabinets; will investigate surface area requirements...
- Q: Projector interrupted by air filtration unit?
  - Probably shouldn't be a problem, given the projector would be somewhere in the middle of the room on the ceiling.
- Laser cutter; depending on where it is sourced from, perhaps would come with its own table?
  - In the price range we're looking at, probably just something that would sit on an existing table.
- Reminder of budget for laser cutter; ~$8-10K.
- Library cannot fund-raise, but DMS can. As well as the Friends of the Davis Library.
  - This could provide extra funding for an extra fancy laser cutter model; this gets closer to $18K.
- Bill: 3D printer surface; good to have a nice heavy surface, e.g. 2" marble.
  - Emily: also, such furniture shouldn't be mobile, not on wheels.
  - Crista: Library machine isn't on wheels and they haven't had issues, though have heard of calibration concerns.
  - Chrystle: there are various surfaces available for custom ordering...
- Emily: probably would be good to recheck previous research on laser cutters.
- Power in the center area?
  - Power will be in the floor.
  - Chrystle will look to see about power options of the rally tables.
- Discussion of dates and times for upcoming events.
  - End of March or April?
  - Bill: that range would be fine for workshops.
  - No open on Sunday.
  - Perhaps April 2; 10a - 5:30p range.
  - Also will schedule a repair cafe; May 7?
