[dms-discuss] The Closure

I just got an email with some more information from Terry Jue in the Public
Works Dept.:

"We have made provisions in the contract for the contractor to escort
people to the building through the work zone during construction. You will
need to contact an inspector who will direct the contractor to stop work
and escort you or others to the building. We will provide contact
information to you. Access to the building after construction hours has
not been established but we will see if we can accommodate this.

The project will not start in May as originally thought with the current
signs. The contractor is looking at a mid-June start now. We will be
sending notices of the alley closure dates by mail and by door hanger at
least 3 days before the closure happens."

It sounds like, at the very least, we should have access to the
space during the day. I would hold off on any events until we know the
construction schedule, though. I'll suggest the G street access idea.

The board will discuss the business license issue further.
