Hi All
So I asked a local historian about the building we are in.
Its pretty old, and part of the Masonic building on G St.
If anyone wants to take a look at the attached records, it looks like this
might have been built in 1917 along with the rest of the Masonic
Building.
Might have been from before that, looks like there was a fire probably
around
where woodstocks was in 1916 that precipitated the building of 221G, and
perhaps the
shed we are in out back.
Enjoy

RAN,
I went by the looked at the structure and it certainly appears to be
part of the Masonic building and to have nothing to do with the former
City structure.
I also looked it up in my copy of the 1933 City tax assessment survey,
which involved drawing footprints of all buildings. The extension,
measuring 40 by 18, is shown on the drawing (attached).
If you want to check, go out and measure it.
I also attach a copy of the City's historical write ups of the building
over the years. Oddly, there is no mention of the shed, but then
preservationists only care what shows on the street.
If one wanted to really nail this topic, one would go over to the
counter of the planning department and ask to see its file on the
building. That file would provide more than you likely care to know.
Also, there are Sanborn maps that show footprints for about ten
different years one can consult.
