I've helped out on the Tour de Cluck and also ridden it once, and Tim's 
description is exactly right. I think most people are on the Tour 
because of an interest in chickens. The bicycle simply adds a Davis 
flavor, although it is not an original idea--there are versions of the 
bicycle chicken coop tour in Austin, Portland, and other 
bike/chicken-friendly cities across the country.

As a longtime chicken keeper, my own interest in gadgets would lean 
toward things that are practical as well as whimsical. A 
light-sensitive, or timed coop door opener. A nesting box that rolls the 
egg out to be collected. A dispenser that can fling a handful of scratch 
across the yard twice a day. A regulated heating system for chicks that 
would stay within range, and a non-tip waterer/feeder for same.

That said, I would also enjoy seeing the zoetrope and Rube Goldberg 
machine, as well. I do realize this is primarily an art show, not a 
gadget show. :)
