May have discovered problem.  Sent information to:
 "discuss-owner at lists.davismakerspace.org" <discuss-owner at lists.davismakerspace.org>
Should have sent to:
discuss at davismakerspace.org <discuss at davismakerspace.org>;

I guess the first one is the listserv manager?  Which is the one that my email decided to keep in the recall address list.  My bad.

Not sure the context of this:

There appear to be three concatenated attachments, some of which
have embedded formatting and some which don't.
It's not clear whether some have been mailed and returned.

I'll note that the various mail programs embed formatting and some
strip formatting. It's not clear to me whether this is done at the
client end - in the recipient's computer-  or whether at the server
level - like the Microsoft Exchange Server.

Some examples:

When Jim was using Eudora - the pre 2006 version before open source
Eudora - everything was stripped and when he responded, the returned
original was in courier with the hard returns added to fit his
display every 40 characters or so. Was that Eudora or Yolo.com?

When I was using Outlook Express, it used a (selectable) text editor
to spell check, specify a font and soft wrap the lines. Since it was
embedded in XP, it defaulted to Word if installed and I think
    Notepad if not.

I note that Thunderbird - a Eudora successor - allows me to use a
text editor or hypertext. I'm not sure of the difference and never
tried to look at the code.
You might recall text editors (Word?) embedding ^Bbold^B and hypertext bold. Clearly one's not going to reliably read the other.

I also notice that the new (despised) Yahoo Mail format strings
previous messages together in novel and infuriating ways. I think
Opera did that as well. Was a dumb fad. Anyway, the formatting is
    effed in the process.
