Minutes:
- Prep for meeting to talk with the library about the MOU and the collaboration in general.
- Do they want any of our equipment, or is it never to be homed there? If not, what do we do with the stuff?
- Edward thinks as long as the DMS 3d printers are part of a project, e.g. to rehabilitate them, perhaps we can home them in the space as well.
- For other things, basically we need to check in with the library about what can and cannot be housed there.
- Things that need a waiver requires more thought. Which is pretty much everything besides the 3d printers and what is already in the cabinet.
- The list, separated by tabs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12qmYSOcT--X9QNU3r9kGbZ9ZaOFyvZzEcaRlOm1KnEQ
- Perhaps the Davis Mercantile could be a destination for equipment that can't go to the library or be stored anymore.
- What minimum number of hours do they want us to commit to?
- What are the limitations, if any, on open hours?
- Should the mailing list set up by the library be the primary contact point for Library-based Makerspace volunteers? Or can we manage our own list?
- In general, to what degree does the Library desire collaborating on internet-based resources that have to do with Makerspace @ Library?
- To what degree can one just come in to open the space unannounced and the space is not being used?
- E.g. Does advanced warning need to be transmitted? Does the space have to be "open" whenever a volunteer is there?
- Other equipment to add to a shopping list for the Library?
- Soldering station.
- ...
- How do we coordinate the Library Makerspace volunteers vs the DMS Makerspace volunteers for the space?
- More generally, how do we (DMS + Library) think about "ownership" of the space?
- Probably good to think of the Library as just one aspect of DMS.
- Sorted out some things with getting hours posted to the website.
- Julie will also get access to the social media stuff that Emily has been updating.
