Another little update,

Today we had a visitor who was interested in 3D printing a house model based on 3D architectural CAD drawings, in his case as designed in software called Revit (another Autodesk software).

We weren't able to start an actual print just yet, as for some reason Revit didn't want to export an STL (it was an option, but was greyed out).  He'll try to get an STL and come by again.

Generally, though, I'm not sure how one would best print out a model house; in particular anything that overhangs would seem challenging; e.g. the tops of windows and doors.  But I also have very little experience with it. ^^;
