Hey all,

I hope everyone has been ok during the last several months. It's certainly
been a trying time for me, ha. But I've been hanging in there and have
recently felt like making art which feels like a good thing.

So this Sunday (Valentine's Day) I'm posting an (all online) art show that
you may enjoy seeing. I'll do a little artist talk via Zoom about it that
afternoon at 4pm. (See details below.)

It would be great to see you all if you can make it. 🌻

You are invited to a virtual exhibition on February 14

*On Sunday February 14th, 2021 7-8:30 pm Emily Schleiner along with A1 Lab
Arts is hosting a virtual art exhibition exploring reflections arising from
‘life at home’ during the era of Covid19, a time marked by physical
isolation and social upheavals. *

*Focusing on this time of uncompromising reflection at home, artwork in
this exhibition features a new series of mixed media pieces by Emily
Schleiner that will take stock and examine her own personal journey through
life by focusing on moments of symbolic and iconic transitions as though
part of a ‘hero’s journey’. A second series of paintings that explore the
chaotic process of ‘flowing’ while confined by structure will also be
unveiled. And finally, two interactive installations will be exhibited that
engage the interior and the exterior of life at home.*

*This exhibition will take the form of a virtual walk-through along with
supplemental videos and interactive web pages. All art will be made
available for viewing at noon on Valentines Day. Opening night Artist’s
talk will take place at 7pm, with more details available at:

*Curator Bio: Emily Schleiner is formerly a Knoxville artist and web
developer who's interest in patterns and people brings her work into a zone
of symbolic imagery, interactive installations, video sculptures, and
short-films. Born in Davis, California, she completed her MFA in
Performance and Interactive Media Arts at Brooklyn College in New York,
embracing ensemble-style collaborations with artists from multiple
disciplines and partaking in the emergent creative process of group
art-making. Her work has shown in the Play With Fire Video Art Festival
(2009), Marian Spore Museum in Brooklyn (2009), in N 68 Media Labs in
Brooklyn (2010), she is an award winning exhibitor in The Consilience of
Art and Science Juried Exhibition of UC Davis’s Art/Science Fusion Program
at Pence Gallery (2013), and has exhibited a large-scale interactive
installation in Broadway Augmented in Sacramento (2014). She has presented
at the Consciousness Reframed International Research Conference in
Trondheim, Norway (2010), and at Oddball Film and Video in San Francisco
(2011-2012), at the Ninth International Conference on Technology, Knowledge
and Society in Vancouver, Canada and the AVANCA Film Festival in Portugal
in 2014.*
