October Meeting

Hey, Makers.

I think our next meeting is October 7th, which means the agenda needs to
go out sometime next week. Working with Tim, the awesome idea came up
to let people suggest and/or request items be added to the agenda.
(This is important since only agenda items can be voted on). So, to
initiate the process: reply in this thread with any items you want on
the agenda. Jordan (ie, our president) will collate them and send out
the official meeting agenda next week. Here's what I want added in:

1) Nominations for board directors and officers. Let's create a list of
nominees in October, vote on them in November, and have the 1 year terms
begin in January.

2) Vote to amend the bylaws. I know: we just rewrote and adopted new
bylaws. Don't worry: they're still good. (Great, even, if I may say
so!) There are a few things that could be *added* for clarity and to
enhance "openness".
   a) Require that a public meeting be held every month
   b) Allow anyone to *suggest* agenda items
   c) Allow the Voting Power to *request* agenda items
   d) Disallow changing of bylaws in special meetings
These 4 additions/modifications would help ensure the Board of Directors
is always accountable to the public. I'll discuss more at the meeting,
but those will be my proposed additions.

Anything *YOU* want added in? (Note: status updates, officer reports,
project show-and-tell, etc. are always going to be on the list)

-James
