Update and Meeting Reminder

Fellow Makers-

Before we get to boring business stuff I would just like to say that I hope
you
all had a great Thanksgiving holiday. Mine was exceptional and included:
four
generations of Van Aalsburgs, Tofurkey, pumpkin ale, and board games (won
Dominion, 2nd in Carcassonne, lost Pandemic... big surprise). I also watched
Punkin Chunkin, which is required viewing on Thanksgiving in my family. In
what
may very well have been a pumpkin ale induced hallucination I saw the
future 1st
Annual Davis Punkin Chunkin competition. And it was glorious. I know we have
some other stuff to do first like find a building and acquire tools, but at
some
point in the future we should build one (or more) giant machines to hurl
pumpkins as far as possible. I was at a park by Target the other day that
would
be perfect. Anyway, think about it...

On to business!

UPDATE
##############################################

* Before the holiday the board of directors met and appointed officers for
the
  year. Here is the board for the current term.

   Jordan Van Aalsburg (president)
   James Holliday (secretary)
   Braden Pellett (treasurer)
   Mick Bamban
   Jeff Tolentino
   Nicholas Weigand

* We have a bank account now. We may not have any funds, but we have a bank
  account and some fancy checks that say Davis Makerspace on them and look
super
  professional.

* At the last meeting we decided to begin collecting member dues in
January. We
  will officially vote on this issue at the next meeting. Prior to the vote
  we will be discussing and deciding on what the dues will be. If this is a
  topic which interests you be sure to be there.

UPCOMING MEETING
###############################################

This Monday (12/03) we will meet at 7:00. We have been meeting at Mick's
workshop, but hopefully there will be a presentation this week which means
we
may need to change locations. If that turns out to be the case I will send
an
email with the new location. For the moment, let's plan on meeting at Mick's
shop again.

This seems like a good time to ask:

Does anyone have a projector we could use for the meeting? Jeff has offered
to
give a presentation on his experience with kickstarter. If you plan on
attending
and have one please respond in this thread. Thanks.

OK. Here's what's on the menu for the evening. As always there will be a
show-and-tell following the meeting so if you've got something, bring it.
