On Thursday night, August 22, 2013, while Jim was explaining some cool gadgetry that he has created for us, one of our neighbors rushed in and begged us for electronic help. An amplified speaker at their rather popular nearby restaurant/bar had been damaged. Jim and I agreed to do him a favor by trying to fix it. I brought its guts over (a rather massive power supply/amplifier module) and we checked out the damage. Jim rushed back to his office to get needed parts and tools.<br>

We both worked on it, then we brought the repaired module back and installed it in the big speaker. Our repairs were apparently successful and the manager was very happy.<br>

Hi gang --<br>

During my Thursday night shift at the space I got the Printrbot Simple calibrated and printed out a couple of test prints (nothing worth showing off).<br>
<br>
I am hoping to get some help from others with more experience soon -- perhaps this Friday evening during our regular open house? -- so that I can have it doing something impressive at the Davis Flea Market this Sunday.<br>
<br>
I would welcome advice from any experienced folks!<br>
<br>
In the meantime, be careful if you touch the printer -- it has a temporary glass printing surface on its bed, and it has sharp edges!<br>
