<DIV style="RIGHT: auto" class=y_msg_container><BR style="RIGHT: auto">Greetings, all.<BR><BR>Today Tim and I did a bit of rearranging in the space: we tore down one<BR>of the rickety shelves, moved the lockers to a better/safer location,<BR>and consolidated some of the tools/supplies into the metal shelves.<BR>During this process, one thing became clear: we have more donated<BR>materials and supplies than we can currently handle :(<BR><BR>In the future, we hope to be able to move into the downstairs level.<BR>This will give us more storage room, but we're not there yet. The<BR>unfortunate truth is we need to clear up a lot of space.<BR><BR>Tim and I took a few hours to pull out donations that we're not sure<BR>about. These include items that didn't seem to us to have an immediate<BR>use for the group as a whole. It was hard to do, and I'm sure we were<BR>over enthusiastic with some of our choices. Here's how I propose
we<BR>handle the situation:<BR><BR>1) At our next group meeting (Monday, 2 September), we as a group need<BR>to decide what goes and what stays. We warned, though: we simple don't<BR>have the space for almost any of it.<BR><BR>2) If you can't make the next group meeting, swing by the space during<BR>open house and make a note of anything you feel should stay. You can<BR>cast that "vote" with whomever is holding group hours.<BR><BR>3) If you've previously dropped off any of the items in the quarantine<BR>pile and would like them back: take them back! This will save us from<BR>making a tough decision. *Important*: only take anything you dropped<BR>off. If you didn't donate it, you can't take it from the space.<BR><BR>4) After the next meeting--probably the day after--anything left in the<BR>quarantine pile will be taken to SPCA/Goodwill.<BR><BR>5) After this, we will implement a inventory system. Nothing can
come<BR>into the space without approval, and everything must be entered into our<BR>inventory list and stored in an assigned location.<BR><BR>Hopefully we'll be able to relax this in the future. Until then,<BR>however, we simple don't have the space for all the materials we're<BR>taking in. When you think about it, though, it's actually a pretty good<BR>problem to have!<BR><BR>Please feel free to discuss in this email thread.
